Shapes 3D – Geometrie Lernen.

Description.

The partner app for Shapes 3D – Geometry Drawing provides a fascinating insight into geometric shapes.

The mesh visualisation makes it possible to see what a 3D shape would look like if it were opened and laid flat.

By clicking on the desired shape, the pupils open a 3D image on the screen and can then explore the various nets it can be made of. The shape can be folded and unfolded using a slider. They can experiment with it, make their own nets and see if they work, or print out nets to make shapes out of paper or cardboard. There is also an exciting augmented reality feature that allows them to 'unfold' the shape on the table surface in front of the screen.

The app also helps students to discover other properties of 3D shapes by highlighting surfaces, edges and corners and finding out how many of these the shape has.

Didactic advice and teaching ideas.

Ideal for geometry lessons to familiarise students with shapes, edges, surfaces and meshes.
