Description
Ubiquiti Access Point UniFi UAP-FlexHD
Flexible UniFi FlexHD Access Point
Small and sleek, yet powerful, the 802.11ac 4x4 AP is ideal for businesses, enterprises and homes. The modern yet discreet design allows placement close to users for optimal performance.
WLAN standard 802.11ac
The 802.11ac WLAN standard offers you up to twice as much data throughput as older standards. The increase is achieved firstly by widening the transmission bandwidth. In addition, 802.11ac allows the number of parallel data streams (Multiple Input Multiple Output, MIMO for short) to be increased to up to eight MIMO streams, whereas the 802.11n standard defines a maximum of four MIMO streams. Even large chunks of data such as videos and backups are no problem with this WLAN speed.
Multi-User Multiple Input Multiple Output (MU-MIMO)
Multi-user MIMO technology was introduced as part of the Wave 2 further development of the 802.11ac standard. By utilising Multi-User MIMO, this device can stream data to multiple devices simultaneously. This allows your Wi-Fi network to deliver faster throughput to each connected client. This means faster downloads and lag-free streaming for your devices.
Ubiquiti Networks
Ubiquiti Networks is an American manufacturer of high-performance network components. Ubiquiti's goal is to provide state-of-the-art and easy-to-implement communication solutions for a global customer base. The company was founded in 2005 and initially produced WLAN adapters for PCs. The range was later expanded to include devices such as WLAN routers, particularly for outdoor use. The company now also manufactures switches and surveillance cameras. Ubiquiti products are generally characterised by their superior performance, clever mechanical design and simple operation.
Multi-SSID support
Thanks to multi-SSID, you can operate several wireless network zones with different names and access rights with this access point. One option would be to set up separate network segments for individual departments or, for example, operate smart home and IoT devices in separate zones. This way, visitors' smartphones do not have access to PCs with confidential data on the network side. If you expand your wireless network with additional access points, make sure that the new APs support at least as many SSIDs per wireless module as your router/WLAN controller.
Simple installation thanks to PoE
This network-compatible device is supplied with power via the LAN cable using Power over Ethernet (PoE). The main advantage of PoE is that you do not need a power supply cable. This allows you to install Ethernet-connected devices even in hard-to-reach places or in areas where a lot of cables would get in the way. You save installation costs and can increase the reliability of the connected devices by using a central uninterruptible power supply (UPS) if required.
