Description
Ubiquiti Mesh Router UniFi Dream Machine
The UniFi Dream Machine (UDM) is the easiest way to introduce UniFi to homes and businesses. It is easy to use and includes everything needed for a small wired or Wi-Fi network. Including all the benefits of UniFi and MU-MIMO.
By utilising Multi-User MIMO, this device can stream data to multiple devices simultaneously. This allows your Wi-Fi network to deliver faster throughput to each connected client. This means faster downloads and lag-free streaming for your devices.
Quality of Service
The QoS function of this device allows you to reserve bandwidth for specific devices or applications. By recognising application and device information as well as bandwidth requirements, it guarantees that highly prioritised data automatically receives the best possible connection. QoS also ensures that lower priority applications, such as file downloads, never come to a complete standstill. This guarantees reliable performance for important applications even when the network is heavily utilised.
Ubiquiti Networks
Ubiquiti Networks is an American manufacturer of high-performance network components. Ubiquiti's goal is to provide state-of-the-art, easy-to-implement communication solutions for a global customer base. The company was founded in 2005 and initially manufactured WLAN adapters for PCs. The range was later expanded to include devices such as WLAN routers, particularly for outdoor use. The company now also manufactures switches and surveillance cameras. Ubiquiti products are generally characterised by their superior performance, clever mechanical design and simple operation.
Maximum discretion thanks to VPN support
The device supports the establishment of VPN connections and helps you to protect your privacy. As soon as public access is used to access the Internet, data traffic can easily be read by third parties. Not all access can be encrypted via the direct route, and even if you use an encrypted connection for certain processes, the information about where you have just connected to remains visible. A VPN tunnel solves both problems, as all network packets can be encrypted. Anyone possibly reading the data traffic of the public access can only recognise a connection to the VPN gateway - the actual destination remains hidden from them.
WLAN standard 802.11ac
The WLAN standard 802.11ac offers you up to twice as much data throughput as older standards. The increase is achieved firstly by widening the transmission bandwidth. In addition, 802.11ac allows the number of parallel data streams (Multiple Input Multiple Output, MIMO for short) to be increased to up to eight MIMO streams, whereas the 802.11n standard defines a maximum of four MIMO streams. Even large chunks of data such as videos and backups are no problem with this WLAN speed.
