With the Rugged Mini, you have the speed of USB 3.0 and full backwards compatibility with USB 2.0, which means you can use it with almost any computer. With USB 3.0 you can transfer a 700 MB video file in less than 7 seconds. By comparison, with USB 2.0 this takes 25 seconds. To increase the data transfer rate on your Mac, you can use the LaCie USB 3.0 driver for Mac (up to 30% more performance compared to FireWire 800).
