ICT Specialist Training
Requirements
As a future ICT specialist, many different qualities are expected of you. One of your core competencies is communication. Therefore, it is important that you enjoy interacting with people, whether they are external customers or internally within the team. Additionally, you should have a flair for English. As an ICT specialist, acting as a hub between installation and support, connected thinking is very important. You find it easy to instruct users in the use of ICT resources. When faced with problems, you find solutions through discussions with other experts.
Tasks
As an ICT specialist, you support clients independently or in collaboration with other professionals. You install hardware and software, expand device configurations, instruct users, and work in ICT support. Additionally, you assist users in handling ICT resources and are also involved in the maintenance of ICT end-user devices. You are familiar with the company-specific settings of the hardware used and the standard applications/operating applications to act quickly and with high quality in installations and support cases.
Training
The apprenticeship as an ICT specialist lasts three years.
In most cases, you sign a training contract with a company and then work for them for three years. The company is obligated to train you. In addition to working at the company, you typically attend vocational school for two days per week in the first year of training and one day in the second and third years. Concurrently, you attend four inter-company courses (each 6 days).
