Yes – classes can be managed collaboratively, making it ideal for subject teachers, team teaching, or cover teachers. This ensures everyone stays up to date, and tasks and feedback remain centrally accessible.

Yes – thanks to integration with Managed Apple IDs and iCloud, tasks can be assigned, completed, and monitored from anywhere. Classroom even allows device management when students are not in the same room (depending on the configuration).

For use in schools, we recommend Managed Apple IDs, which are created and managed centrally by the school or educational institution. These provide full functionality while ensuring maximum data privacy.

Schoolwork and Classroom are available for free on the App Store. In schools, installation is usually handled centrally via an MDM system such as Jamf School – automated and pre-configured.

Data protection comes first: no advertising, no data sharing, no user profiling. All information stays within the educational system – secure, encrypted, and fully GDPR-compliant.

Yes – to access the full functionality, an MDM system such as Jamf School is recommended. This allows apps to be installed automatically, device settings to be configured, and school operations to be managed efficiently.

Not directly – Schoolwork is designed for interaction between teachers and students. Communication with parents continues via the usual channels. However, some schools export task overviews as PDFs to give parents insight.

How does sending files to the whole class work?

In Apple Schoolwork, files are always distributed as part of a task. Teachers provide materials directly within an assignment, and each student automatically receives their own copy of the file.

Students complete and submit their work directly in Schoolwork, and teachers can monitor progress at any time. All files remain within the Managed Apple IDs, ensuring clear organisation and a clean separation between school and personal data.
