Ubiquiti Inc. is an American manufacturer of high-performance network components. Ubiquiti's mission is to provide state-of-the-art, easy-to-implement communication solutions for a global customer base. The company was founded in 2005 and initially produced WLAN adapters for PCs. The range was later expanded to include devices such as WLAN routers, particularly for outdoor use. The company now also manufactures switches and surveillance cameras. Ubiquiti products are generally characterised by their superior performance, clever mechanical design and simple operation.

Power over Ethernet (PoE)

With Power over Ethernet, you can supply compatible devices with power via the network cable. Especially for end devices such as wireless access points, IP telephones and IP cameras, this reduces the cabling effort and at the same time gives you a high degree of flexibility in the placement of the end devices.

802.3at PoE+

The IEEE 802.3at standard offers a maximum of 25.4 watts of power on each PoE+ port with a voltage of up to 50 volts. The standard assumes that 21.90 watts of usable power remain or may be consumed after line losses in order not to exceed the maximum power output. A Cat5e/6 cable with a maximum length of 100 metres is recommended for PoE+.
